Privacy Policy
01Who we are
CAPE Advisory & Consulting Ltd. is a regulatory, fiscal, trade and commercial advisory firm in Bangladesh, with offices in Dhaka and Chattogram. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us at hello@corporateadvisory.bd, on +880 1322-886648, or at either office listed at the end of this page.
02What this policy covers
This policy covers corporateadvisory.bd and the personal information we receive through it, together with the contact details we hold for clients, prospective clients and professional contacts.
Information we receive while carrying out an engagement is governed by the engagement letter for that work. Where an engagement letter says something different from this policy, the engagement letter applies.
03Information you give us
- Enquiries. The Discuss a Business Challenge form asks for your name, your organisation, your email address, the advisory area your question falls under, and your message.
- Correspondence. Anything you send us by email, telephone or post, and the notes we make of a conversation.
- Publications. The details you give when you ask about a book, a budget review or another publication.
- Applications. The CV, covering note and contact details you send when you apply for a position listed on our Careers page.
- Accounts and purchases. If you create an account or buy a publication through this site, the details needed to do that. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by us.
04Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time — to keep the site available, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse.
We also use the measurement and advertising tools in the next section. They record how the site is used, and they run only if you agree to them.
05Measurement and advertising tools
We use four tools from Google, Meta and Microsoft. Between them they tell us which pages are read, where enquiries come from, and where a page loses people — and they let us show our publications and services to people who have already visited.
- Google Tag Manager loads the tools below. It sets no cookies of its own.
- Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, events such as an enquiry being submitted or a publication opened, your device and browser, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address.
- The Meta Pixel records what happens after someone arrives from one of our advertisements, and lets us show advertisements on Meta’s platforms to people who have visited this site.
- Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, and session replays that show movement through a page, with text masked — so we can see where a page confuses people.
When you send an enquiry we also report that event to Meta from our own server, through its Conversions API, so the enquiry can be matched to the advertisement it came from. Your email address is included in hashed form — scrambled by a one-way calculation that Meta uses to look for a match and cannot turn back into an address. This happens only if you have agreed to the advertising cookies.
Apart from that hashed identifier, none of these tools is given your name, your email address or the content of your enquiry. What they receive are technical and behavioural details and their own identifiers. Each company handles that information under its own notice: Google, Meta and Microsoft.
06Cookies and your choices
We ask before any of this is switched on. On your first visit you can accept or decline the non-essential cookies, and you can change your mind at any time from the cookie settings on this site. If you decline, the measurement and advertising tools do not load, and the site works exactly as it would otherwise.
Essential cookies do not need consent: they keep the site working, remember that you are signed in to an account, and record the choice you just made.
| Cookie or identifier | Set by | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_… | Google Analytics 4 | Tells one visit from another and groups them into sessions | Non-essential |
_fbp, _fbc | Meta | Measures what follows an advertisement, and supports remarketing | Non-essential |
_clck, _clsk and identifiers on clarity.ms | Microsoft Clarity | Joins page views into one session so a replay makes sense | Non-essential |
| Consent record | This site | Remembers whether you accepted or declined | Essential |
| Session and sign-in cookies | This site | Keeps the site working and keeps you signed in to an account | Essential |
The exact list is checked with a cookie scan before launch and kept current here. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave differently.
07Content embedded from other companies
Two features bring in content from elsewhere. When they load, those companies can receive your IP address and may set their own cookies:
- Google Maps, on the Contact page, to show where our offices are.
- YouTube, for the conversations we publish. These are embedded through
youtube-nocookie.comand load only when you choose to play a video.
Typefaces and every other design file are served from our own server, so nothing is requested from a font provider when you open a page.
08Why we use your information
- to answer your enquiry and discuss the issue behind it;
- to provide, administer and improve our advisory services;
- to send you a publication or an update you have asked for, and to stop when you ask us to;
- to consider your application for a position;
- to measure how this site is used and to make it work better;
- to plan, place and measure our advertising;
- to keep the records we are required to keep, and to meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations;
- to establish, exercise or defend a legal position where we have to.
We rely on your consent where you have given it, on the steps needed to agree or carry out an engagement, on our legitimate interest in running and describing a professional practice, and on compliance with law. Where the law of your own country gives you further rights, we will honour them.
10Where it is held
Some of the services above keep information on servers outside Bangladesh. Google, Meta and Microsoft process it in several countries, including the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to see that it is protected to the standard described in this policy.
11How long we keep it
An enquiry that does not lead to an engagement is kept for 24 months and then deleted. Engagement records are kept for the period our legal and professional obligations require. Application material is kept for the recruitment it relates to, unless you ask us to keep it on file for future openings.
12Keeping it secure
Access is limited to the people who need it, and we use the protections expected of a professional firm. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive documents or privileged material through the enquiry form or by ordinary email — ask us and we will agree a secure route.
13Your choices and your rights
You can withdraw your consent to the measurement and advertising tools at any time from the cookie settings on this site. That stops any further collection; it cannot undo what was already collected.
You can also ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer need to keep;
- stop sending you publications or updates;
- restrict or object to a particular use of your information.
Write to hello@corporateadvisory.bd and we will respond as promptly as we can. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may raise it with the authority responsible for data protection in your jurisdiction.
14Other websites
Our pages link to other websites, including the other sites in our group and the retailers who sell our publications. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.
15Children
This website is written for businesses and professional contacts. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
16Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practice changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
